Will you help give children back their childhood and give young people the future they deserve?

Why back a better life?
Every child should have a carefree childhood. Every young person deserves the chance to achieve their dreams. It’s all every parent wants for their child, isn’t it?
Right now across Scotland, there are children with Crohn’s and Colitis spending more time in hospital than playing out with their friends. And there are young people like Amelia missing weeks of school and falling behind fast because of sporadic bouts of chronic tiredness, little strength, and a lot of pain. The unpredictable nature of the disease means plans can be cancelled last minute and seeing friends falls by the wayside. Sitting on the sidelines can be lonely.
Fourteen-year-old Amelia was just eight years old the first time she spotted blood when she went to the toilet. Over the next 18 months, she went through more than any child should have to experience.
Thanks to people like you, we’ve already helped improve diagnosis, discover new treatments, and deliver specialist care – improvements that wouldn’t otherwise have been possible. We’ve helped children, young people and their parents feel less lonely too.
But there’s still more to do – and we can’t do it without you.
A month could help a family find support from others in a similar situation, share their experiences and build lifelong support through joining one of our Family Days, designed to help children, young people and their parents feel more in control and confident about living with IBD.
A month could help make sure every child being cared for and has access to a specialist IBD nurse when they visit and whenever they need advice or reassurance.
A month could help a young person take part in our Scholarship Program to give them the best start despite missing out on some mainstream education.
A month could help discover life-changing treatments and more effective ways of managing the debilitating symptoms of Crohn’s and Colitis.
